Couponing

Get ready Texans this Saturday for 1 day only Kroger is going to double coupons $0.40- $1!
Being on a budget has been good for me. I never thought I would be couponing, but here I am. I look at it as a game. While I am not great at it, I am starting to learn the ropes a bit. I normally shop HEB, and we buy a lot of generics, but I do love to find great deals on name brand stuff. I know many of you do Grocery Game, but we don't buy enough of the stuff on the list for me to justify the additional cost to our monthly budget. So, I follow Money Saving Mom and do some matching myself.
Anyway, I am going to do this one at Krogers this weekend. I organized all of my high value coupons tonight and then ventured out to Kroger to get the actual prices so I would be prepared for Sat. I didn't want to have to figure out on Sat what was (not) a good deal. What I found is you have to be careful as their prices are high and even with doubling the coupons on Sat, you might be better to hold some of your coupons for sales (especially cleaning products!).
See these 2 websites for more deals:

  1. Thanks! I just jotted a little cheat sheet to take with me on Saturday.

I used to be really good about couponing, but kind of fell off the wagon since I buy a lot of store brands and do most shopping at Walmart or Costco.

Hope you are doing well...feel like I haven't seen you in forever.

  2. Jen--Just found out about this one, too: www.hotcouponworld.com. How did you make out at Kroger? I shop their sales but get the rest at Walmart each week.
