It's just a season....that's what I keep telling myself. It seems like everytime I hit a rough patch with the kids, someone reminds me that everything is just a season. We have hit the "why" season....oh my word, no one told me that one child could have the word why out of his mouth so many times in a day. He does come by his love of talking honestly, but I think he has me beat. The mouth is running continually starting at 6:20 a.m.
So the way I look at it, on a conservative estimate, he asks why 4 times a minute, every hour for 10 of the 11 hours he is awake (assuming I get a 1 hour quiet time break). That makes a grand total of 2,400 times I hear/answer/ignore the word "why." Pretty amazing. In the wee hours of the morning I think he averages the question 6 times a minute...bringing the total closer to 3,600 times a day. Pretty amazing...
My favorite so far was a line of questioning about a tractor, which led to why did the farmer buy the tractor? For fun, and to see what he would do, I said, "because he likes spaghetti and meatballs." WRONG answer, it gave him a whole new line of thinking to pursue which ended with me making meatballs.
It's a good thing I love him so much.
oh wow...lol
