Lots of life lessons learned today at the zoo:
- I learned that it is better to let your child down and be called a liar than to subject yourself to a day at the zoo with 70+ school buses. (I stopped counting buses at 70).
- I learned that you can be VISIBLY pregnant with a toddler on your hip and a preschooler holding your hand yelling, "Mommy, when's it our turn? I have to tee tee" and people will cut in front of you to take the next available stall. GRRRRR. Common sense and courtesy is dead.
- I learned that train tickets are good for only one day - so much for holding on to them.
- I also learned that the train station people aren't very nice about pointing out the fine print.
- I learned that on the day you give in to screaming childrent to buy more of the above train tickets that the credit card machine will be down and the nearest ATM will be through the masses. I also learned that the train people still do not have compassion on a mom with screaming children.
- I learned that kids do live without a train ride.....it just takes mass amounts of caffeine and tylenol to combat the headache from the screaming.
- I learned that even the most planned moms forget important items like sunscreen and that said sunscreen costs 3 times as much at the zoo as the local Wal Mart. I learned that your daughter will still get a sunburn with it
- I learned that if your toddler takes her shoes off in the water area at the back of the zoo, that it will wash to a drain that is under a bridge. A 5'3ish pregnant mom can not reach said shoe. Thus, a Wal Mart trip is in the future
- I learned that sometimes you just have to find the comedy in life.
Bless your heart!!! I hope tomorrow is better!!! I am glad you can find the comedy, I bet you will be laughing even harder tomorrow:).Blessings, and wishing you a peaceful night of sleep...
ReplyDeleteWhat a day! Grace will be one of the kids on the 70 buses next Friday, and I will be chaperoning. Fun, fun!
ReplyDeleteAnd I have had many less-than-friendly encounters with the train personnel in that little ticket depot/shop.
Hope tomorrow is better!
