Getting Ready for Hope

This week has been a flurry of activity getting ready for Hope's arrival. It was spurred on two weeks ago when my doctor made 2 comments: 1. I'll see you in 2 weeks. (Am I really that far along) and 2. You know, she's a second baby, she could come early! (AGGHH!!!....although, Grayson was a week late and we kicked him out. As long as she stays put until the end of July, mom will survive.)

So, my nesting instinct has kicked in. EVERYTHiNG must be done IMMEDIATELY! I'm not where I would like to be, but we did get the furniture set up in the nursery: thanks mom and dad for giving me all day Friday to help. Jamison hung a new fan, the pictures and worked on painting the closet. I made a mad dash to Babies R Us to get some diapers and some little outfits for her arrival. I also started her birth announcements. So, other than a stroller and waiting on her chair, we are in good shape.

Last week my friends had a play date and honored Hope. It was great fun and I got some really cute stuff. I am loving all of the pink. I feel so blessed that they would want to celebrate with me. The Lord has been so faithful to me to provide me with such wonderful friends. Thank you so much Dana and Suzanne for doing this for me.

Below are pictures of all the festivities and me at 28 weeks. Fun times. My appointment this past Friday went as mine usually do - with the doc telling me I am doing great. I love that my appointments are uneventful and am so thankful that the Lord has given me this blessing.

  1. Oh, please, you still have a good 2 months. Amazing how quick it passes by with number two, tho, huh??

I remember when i was pg with Eva Rose, Walker and I had this conversation:

Him: You are being so freaking selfish. All you do is boss me around and think about yourself. All you care about is your to-do list.

Me: You are so right. I am so sorry. Please forgive me honey.

    (pause to feign contriteness)

Now could you please get your butt to Home Depot and buy me the paint I asked for?!?!? I am having a baby in two months!!!!

  2. We have been watching a mom and dad mockingbird build a nest in a bush outside our kitchen window. The baby birds have been here a little over a week now, and I hear them clamoring for food as I type. You nest, girl! I can totally relate to wanting to have it all in order when she comes.
