Austin and a Great Memory

Congratulations Carrie and Jason!
We traveled to Austin this past weekend to a family (well, almost family) member's wedding. The day was gorgeous and the bride was radiant. This was taken just after the service (note: 30 weeks pregnant in the picture and growing by the second).
I also had the opportunity to point out the greatest campus EVER to my son. I am trying to teach him to say and do the hand sign for "Hook 'Em Horns." His daddy corrected me and said that it was the greatest public school campus.....leaving the greatest private school campus to Rice. I guess he is forgetting that my blood runs burnt orange and that Grayson was connected to me for a full 41 weeks. I am sure some of that burnt orange is flowing through him as well.
Which on a completely random note, the thought of my blood being burnt orange reminds me of when I was a freshman in high school. The joke my whole life has been that my blood was burnt orange. After all, my nursery was burnt orange gingham and I had a stuffed football that played "The Eyes of Texas." Anyway, I believe my youngest brother was 4 at the time and he really believed that my blood was orange. I got extremely sick that year and the doctor thought I might have mono. So, mom, Justin and I trooped down the hall to the lab where the nurse began to draw my blood. You would have thought that someone had beat Justin the way he screamed out. Mom trying to be calm asked him, "Justin, what's wrong?" To which he replied, "Oh no, she's bleeding maroon."
As I said, "Hook 'Em Horns!"
