When Robin married into our family, I knew she was meant to be a Crockett as she instituted the birthday week. Every day of your birthday week, you get to choose the activity. I liked the idea! She can stay! (Note: Robin is a way cool person anyway, this is just one of the thousands of reasons that I am glad she is part of the Crockett Clan).
However, Grayson has taken our birthday tradition to a whole new level. He managed to make it a birthday month. Granted, Ike kept pushing one of his parties out, but that is beside the point....the child blew out 4 separate sets of candles! The original plan was to have a little kids party and invite the grandparents. Sounded good - only the rest of the family wasn't up for that idea. So, I compromised since my cousin Kelley and her twins were going to be in town, we would have a small family party the weekend after his birthday. Being the mom that I am, I could not let the actual birthday pass without singing to him - really, all we were going to do was have sweet rolls and sing to him.
Lets recap how it all went down:
Sept 1:
Birthday Celebration 1 - breakfast and presents with mom and dad

Birthday Celebration 2 - steak dinner (How did he pull that off?) and cupcakes at Mimi and Pop's

Sept 6:
Birthday Celebration 3 - COOKIE MONSTER! italian dinner and cake with the family

Sept 28:
Birthday Celebration 4 - TRUCKS! pb&j and cake with friends
WAIT A SECOND. Did you make that Cookie Monster cake!?!?!!! That is too adorable.
ReplyDeleteSure did! It was fun! I learned a trick on making 3D cakes - use one box of cake mix and one box of pound cake.
