Things I'm Loving...

Swiped this idea off of Callie Smith's blog. Thanks Callie! I still feel like I am such a haze with three kids and with one of them giving me fits lately, it is good for me to stop and think of all the things I love, and what is good. So, here is my list of things I'm loving right now.

Jesus Calling:  Love, love, love this devotional. Mainly I love that it is short and to the point and is written as if Jesus is speaking directly to you. Did I mention that it was short???  I was having trouble finding time to get anything read and my mentor mentioned this to me, along with the word, grace.  It sits in my kitchen so that when I have a spare minute or two, I can read it and then I have something to reflect on for the day.  Some days it's all I get.

The Daily Walk Bible  In my sleep deprived stupor, I decided back in October that it would be a good time to read through the Bible. This Bible was recommended to me by several people. It's fantastic. I am now in April....should be farther along, like in May or so, but grace.  I love that it gives an overview of each book of the Bible; I love that the reading is broken down in manageable pieces; I love that it gives you an overview of what is happening (3-4 sentences) at the top of each day. So, if you are a slacker like me, you can read the overview and still know what' going on.  Plus in Kings it is helping me keep all of the Kings and land division straight.  I love that each day it gives you an application and some fun facts.   Maybe in 3 years I will have read it through once.

Cedarmont Kids Hymns:  This is usually what is playing in my car.  It's not obnoxious and the kids are learning hymns --- great theology. They fight (fight, I tell you) over which song we are going to listen to over and over and over again.  Right now it is Christ the Lord is risen today!  It sparked Grayson to ask, "Mommy what battle has been won?"  (followed shortly by, "Who created Batman?")

Hymns for a Kid's Heart:  Grayson is almost old enough to read it.  It's a great book, but right now I am loving the CD that goes with it. It's the other one that is in my car. If Hope wins the CD battle, this is the one we are listening to. She always asks for, "Howy, Howy, Howy."  LOVE that!  The CD is not obnoxious and I will even listen to it by myself. It's soothing for me.  Did I mention that we love hymns in our house???

No post of mine would be complete without a mention of running.  Here they are, my running shoes: Asics Gel Nimbus.  I've been running in them for 7 years now. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them. They've been good to me. Ahhhhh......

  1. Love, love, love Jesus Calling. We have the kids' version, but it's just as good.
