The kids have quickly figured out that their birthday party is not the same day as their actual birthday. Hence, we have "pretend" birthdays and "real" birthdays and they are holding to true Crockett fashion and creating a birthday week. On Grayson's "real" birthday he started the day with biscuits and candles, opened presents (Star Wars legos and a remote control helicopter) and ended with Mimi and Pops at Pappasitos with cupcakes from Ooh La La!
For the record, I was a good child. A really good child. However, based on the presents that Grayson gets, you would think my parents are trying to pay me back. Two years ago he got drums, real, live, BIG drums, for Christmas. For his birthday, he is the proud owner of a 100 piece Alamo set. There are Alamo men everywhere.
Next year, all birthdays fall on a Sat. so we can do "pretend" birthdays on the "real" birthday. Yeah!
