Wait

As I anxiously await what is going to happen with our house and where we are going to move, I keep getting the same word, over and over and over again. I must say that I don't like it, but I have also been told that when the Lord repeats himself, you better listen. So, WAIT I will.

Two things that really struck me from two different pastors:

"Be still and know that I am God" has both a command and a promise. The command: Be still. The promise: You will know that I am God. WOW! I had never pieced that one together. In my waiting and in my stillness, I have the opportunity to know that He is God. It is a time to know God more fully. I need to focus on that rather than the fact that I don't have answers.

Warren Wiersbe said this, "The ability to calm your soul and wait before God is one of hte most difficult things in the Christian life. Our old nature is restless. The world around us is in a frantic hurry. Restless hearts lead to reckless lives."

Oh how I want a life that glorifies God and not one full of reckless decisions because I was too impatient to wait on Him.

  1. I think you wrote this just for me! :) I definitely have a restless nature and have a hard time being still and waiting for God's hand in my life.
