Fire Ant

This is the term my best friend, Erica, has dubbed the beat red, I'm really mad face that almost all newborns do at one point or another. Grayson was a challenge and we had several of these moments. Being a first time mom, I worried, I picked him up, I soothed him, I did everything in my power to make him stop crying. Generally this led to MORE screaming. (Did I mention he was a bit of a challenge?) My brother Jon gave him a classic shirt that said, "Warning, Instructions Not Included." We staged a fire ant picture just so I could have documentation that my child screamed!



Hope on the other hand is a fairly laid back, easy child. She cries when she is wet, hungry, bored, etc. Rarely does she get really worked up. The other night right before bath she had one of those rare moments. She let it all out; I think she must have been storing it up. I can tell I am a second time mom as instead of picking her up, consoling her, etc as I would have done with Grayson, I yell to J, "Quick, get the camera." To which it took a few minutes for him to find, all so I could get a kodak fireant moment. I know, she'll probably be scarred for life because I neglected her!
