Not good, but not that bad either.
For accountablity and follow up purposes from last week, I did complete my final run last Friday and went 6 miles! The kiddos were crazy that afternoon and I needed some fresh air and a lot of it. It was one of my best runs since having Hope.
As for the running - I completed my goals!
On Sat I thought it would be a good idea to get my "long" run in for the week and went another 6. Did I mention that I ran 6 the night before? I paid for it dearly! My legs were jello for the next couple of days. I am definitely not ready for the half marathon that is coming up.
On Monday my 2 year old wanted to go running with me. That is WORK, I tell you. I pushed him in his stroller for around 3 miles. I would love to say that we ran the whole way, but we mostly trotted (and walked). One of his priceless quotes this week came from this trip. He said (and I quote), "We're not running, Mommy. We're walking." As if I did not know this? He did keep me honest as he would periodically tell me to go faster! "Go faster, Mommy, Go faster." "Sweetie - you're heavy - 33 lbs heavy + stroller weight, I am going faster!" That has to count for a few extra calories.
Tues and Thurs rounded out my runs with 4.5 miles and 4 miles respectively. Although the Thurs run was more walking than running as I mistakenly ate some soup before leaving. SLOSH. SLOSH. SLOSH...and I decided to walk. On a very POSITIVE note, I did ab exercises 3 times this week - which is a record for me!
As for the eating - over the course of the week I ate a bag of candy corn. BAD JEN! However, I was really good with eating well the rest of the time. I was studying to teach on Wed and the late night called for sugar. The very POSITIVE note is I stayed out of the ice cream - not one bite; not even a little taste. I also stayed out of Grayson's snacks! I've given up on the diet coke reduction. Much caffeine is needed for a 2 year old and newborn.
I did brave the skirt last Sat. I have about 3/4" to go in the waist and my rear end and hips need to shrink! Having a girl did a number on my body; my flat tushy is not so flat anymore.
Goals for this week: run 3 weekdays and 7-8 miles on Sat; eat well.....no bad snacks
You rock!! 6 miles? You so rock.
ReplyDeleteGood job momma.
And I cannot believe Hope is old enough to smile already. Sigh.
Way to go! I think there are zero calories in the candy corn. Grin. Good luck with week three you can do it! By the way I think your newest family member...Prissy is cute.

YOu are amazing! 6 miles! More than once! I would rather have my teeth pulled out! I say, anyone who runs that much, deserves a bag of candy corn! Great job and good luck during the next week!
ReplyDeleteYour doing awesome. The distance you run is unbelievable. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteOkay....so I can't even get in gear for a walk....let alone run. Great Job.
ReplyDelete6 miles?!! I am soo impressed! I tried running with our jogger a couple of weeks ago and then next day I thought I was getting the flu I was sooo achy!!! Yeah, no flu, just exercising those retired muscles! Way to go!!

Thanks so much for offering!
Way to go on the running this week!!
ReplyDeleteI think having candy corn is just a given the week of Halloween! :)
I too was out pushing the jog stroller Thursday morning, and it was eating my lunch!!! My quads were screaming from the get-go. I want you to know I use those runs as prayer time, and I am praying for YOUR running when I'm out there! I hope it makes you feel better to learn that I fell way off the food bandwagon yesterday. I think I ate more chocolate bars from the Halloween candy than Annabelle! And tonight Matt made brownies! Ugh! I vow to hide all that candy, tomorrow!
